¹ And it came to pass when humanity began to multiply on the face of the soil, and daughters were born to them,
² that the sons of The All-Powerful, Almighty One saw that the daughters of humanity were beautiful; and they took for themselves women from all whom they chose.
³ Then The Sovereign, The Self-Existent said, “My breath shall not abide in humanity forever, for they are indeed flesh; therefore their days shall be 120 years.”
⁴ The Nephilim (Fallen Ones) were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of The All-Powerful, Almighty One came in to the daughters of humanity and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty warriors who were of old, men of renown.
⁵ Then The Sovereign, The Self-Existent saw that the destructiveness of humanity was great on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of their hearts was only continually harmful.
⁶ And The Sovereign, The Self-Existent ached with sorrow that He had made humanity on the earth, and it brought painful strain to His heart.
⁷ So The Sovereign, The Self-Existent said, “I will wipe away humanity whom I have created from the face of the soil—from human to livestock, creeping things and birds of the skies—for I ache with sorrow that I have made them.”
⁸ But Noah found favor in the eyes of The Sovereign, The Self-Existent.
⁹ This is the family record of Noah. Noah was an unwavering man, blameless among the people of his time; Noah walked in alignment with The All-Powerful, Almighty One.
¹⁰ And Noah fathered three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
¹¹ Now the earth had become corrupted before the face of The All-Powerful, Almighty One, and the earth was filled with lawless violence.
¹² And The All-Powerful, Almighty One evaluated the earth, and behold, it was corrupted; for all flesh had corrupted its way of life upon the earth.
¹³ Then The All-Powerful, Almighty One said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with lawless violence because of them; and behold, I am about to destroy them along with the earth.”
¹⁴ Make yourself a floating vessel out of resinous timber; construct rooms inside the floating vessel, and coat it inside and out with waterproof sealant.
¹⁵ This is how you are to build it: the length of the floating vessel shall be 300 cubits, its width 50 cubits, and its height 30 cubits.
¹⁶ Construct a window for the floating vessel, finishing it to within one cubit from the top; put a door in the side of the floating vessel, and build it with lower, second, and third decks.
¹⁷ For behold, I am about to bring a flood of waters upon the land to destroy all flesh under the skies that has the breath of life; everything on the land shall perish.
¹⁸ But I will establish My agreement with you; and you shall enter the floating vessel—you, your sons, your woman, and your sons' women with you.
¹⁹ And of every living creature of all flesh, you shall bring a pair of every kind into the floating vessel to keep them alive with you; they must be male and female.
²⁰ Of the birds according to their kinds, of the livestock according to their kinds, and of every creeping thing of the soil according to its kind—two of every kind will come to you to be kept alive.
²¹ As for you, gather every kind of food that is eaten and store it up; it will serve as food for you and for them.”
²² Noah did this; according to everything that The All-Powerful, Almighty One commanded him, so he did.
